Apprenticeships are integrated programmes of work based training and college based vocational education that builds upon the best of traditional apprenticeship schemes, coupled with up to date qualifications. Approved frameworks exist for both Apprenticeships and Advanced Apprenticeships in the Manned Guarding and Security Systems sectors.

The apprenticeships take approximately three years, during which time apprentices will gain Level 2 and Level 3 National Vocational Qualification Awards and Key Skills qualifications (Scottish Vocational Qualifications and Core Skill in Scotland). For employers, the programmes offer an effective, high quality means of training their staff; and for individuals there exists unparalleled opportunities to gain industry specific experience and qualifications which form the basis of their future career.
